Ecology at CDS

One of the basic goals of our company is to make high quality products in a timely manner and to protect the environment.

We try to make all our activities environment-friendly and to eliminate their potential negative impact on the environment as much as possible by seeking suitable structures and materials.

Our company is located in the beautiful region below Mount Ještěd, whose inhabitants are closely connected with nature. This is why we also try to pollute the environment as little as possible and to preserve our beautiful region for future generations.

Our “green” program means:

Permanent improvements in the structure of our products and use of the best materials to achieve their longest useful life and their possible reuse;
Optimal utilization of our production equipment;
Thorough monitoring and reduction of the consumption of energies;
Reduction of generated communal waste;
Minimum waste of processed materials;
Assessment of the impact on the environment during preparation of new productions.

Teaching all our employees to be responsible for the environment is an important element of our green production.

Our achievements in the protection of the environment during 1995 - 2009:

In the 1990s, we replaced solid fuel boilers with natural gas boilers;
During 2008 – 2009, we reticulated natural gas to most of our appliances and eliminated the heat exchanger as an ineffective interlink in the transmission of heat;
In 2009, we replaced the most frequently used doors to the production halls with heat-insulated doors with a remote control;
We installed separate gas heating on the first floor of the administration building;
During the past three years, we replaced a large number of universal machine tools with a small number of CNC machines with a lower consumption of electric power and cutting oil;
During 2008 – 2009, we completely insulated the Loukovičky plant and replaced all windows.

All this helped reduce the consumption of natural gas by almost 40% and the consumption of electric power by 30% during the past three years.

Our goals to reduce energy consumption in 2010 – 2011:

To reticulate gas and install gas heaters in mechanical production halls;
To reconstruct the drying box in the paint shop;
To complete the replacement of the heating system in the entire administration building;
To lower and insulate the ceiling in the Loukovičky plant;
To focus on a lower consumption of packaging and to try packaging from biodegradable materials;
To separate waste diligently;
To minimize the circulation of paper documents and the number of copies and to hand over as many documents and information as possible electronically;
To reduce the quantity of cooling and tooling fluids.

The goal of these measures is to further reduce the consumption of natural gas by 10 – 15 % and electric power by 10 %.

Ecology in CDS

During 2008 and 2009, we reduced the consumption of energy by 30% because we insulated the buildings and purchased new and energy-saving machinery.
